This Galician town is a great forgotten within the national tourism, but on the other hand, the beauty of its historic centre and in particular of its walls Lugo make a must-see place. Little more than 100 kilimetros of Santiago de Compostela, lies the city of Lugo, founded in the 1st century BC. With a population of close to 100 thousand inhabitants is an ideal destination as getaway inside of Spain. This provincial capital has a great wall dating from the 3rd century and it is in great condition, being able to explore on foot, being remarkable the fact that this is a unique case in the world given we are talking about unique Roman wall that remains entirely, surrounding the entire old quarter of the city containing the Town Hallthe Cathedral, the provincial Museum and other buildings that undoubtedly have a great attraction for visitors. In addition the wall was declared world heritage in 2000. In terms of accommodation, Lugo has many cheap hotels, many of them with a special charm inspired in the environment which produces the beauty of the place. Cities like this abound in the Spanish territory and we can serve as an example that not always the places that most us sound are the only ones to visit.
